About the Role
A leading heavy civil construction firm is seeking a skilled Estimator with strong field experience to join its dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in field engineering and a passion for building complex infrastructure such as bridges, dams, and marine structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze plans and data to prepare cost, time, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors to refine cost projections.
- Design temporary structures (e.g., shoring, cofferdams).
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes and compare cost.
- Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the estimating team.
- Support technical proposal writing and bid closeout processes.
- Travel as needed for site visits, meetings, and training.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
- 5+ years of experience in estimating or a combination of field and estimating experience in bridge, marine, or large-scale concrete/underground projects.
- Proficiency in HCSS, Hard Dollar, Bluebeam, and other estimating tools.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform sedentary work with occasional walking or standing.
- Clear verbal communication and regular attendance required.
