About the Opportunity

An established, design-focused engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Colorado team. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to firm-wide strategy-with a clear path toward leadership and ownership for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical system design, from concept through construction administration
  • Serve as Engineer of Record on projects, ensuring technical accuracy and code compliance
  • Oversee HVAC, plumbing, and building systems design, including load calculations, equipment sizing, and specifications
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions
  • Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets while maintaining high-quality deliverables
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to business development efforts
  • Support the continuous improvement of internal standards, processes, and technical practices

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in the A/E/C industry
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain in Colorado)
  • Demonstrated experience with multifamily and/or commercial building projects (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing design, energy codes, and applicable standards
  • Proficiency in industry software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, load calculation and modeling tools)
  • Proven ability to manage projects and work directly with clients-
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
