Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead engineer on projects, providing technical expertise and guidance to the project team.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop creative solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, helping them to develop their technical and professional skills.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Experience with design of various types of structures including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes, including ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and IBC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate well using both technical and non-technical language.
  • Conscientious and detail-oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with drafting software, BIM modeling, and structural design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, EnerCalc, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with construction and safety practices and willingness to go on site.
  • Teachable and eager to develop professionally.
