Job Title: Senior Transmission Line Engineer
Location: Spencer, Indiana (Hybrid - must reside within 2 hours)
Compensation: $112k-$150k
Summary:
A not-for-profit electric cooperative in the Midwest is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to support the design and execution of high-voltage transmission line projects. This hybrid role is based near Spencer, Indiana, and requires proximity for site visits and in-office collaboration. The position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and internal project management frameworks while supporting the cooperative's mission to deliver reliable and sustainable energy.
Responsibilities:
- Design and specify transmission line projects in compliance with NERC/RRO and internal standards.
- Oversee external consultants and contractors on design execution.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure project success.
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
- Research and implement innovative design techniques and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (required); graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in transmission line design.
- Familiarity with 69, 138, 161, and 345 kV systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Ability to obtain a P.E. license preferred.
