Sr. PM/ Director, Project Management (Solar, Wind, Bess)

An established renewable energy developer and owner/operator is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager or Director to lead the execution of utility-scale energy projects from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through final completion.

This individual will oversee a portfolio of solar PV, onshore wind, battery energy storage (BESS), and hybrid projects, acting as the owner's representative during construction and managing EPC contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The role requires managing multiple projects simultaneously, proactively mitigating risk, and driving successful commissioning and turnover into operations. This position reports into senior leadership within project management and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of utility-scale renewable projects from NTP through commercial operation
  • Serve as the primary owner's representative during construction
  • Manage EPC contractor performance across safety, schedule, cost, quality, and contractual compliance
  • Identify and mitigate construction, technical, commercial, and schedule risks
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts, change orders, and contingency utilization
  • Partner cross-functionally with development, engineering, finance, legal, and operations teams
  • Support commissioning activities and project closeout milestones
  • Ensure compliance with permits, interconnection requirements, financing obligations, and project agreements
  • Provide regular updates and strategic insights to senior leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 8-12 years of experience in energy infrastructure, with a focus on utility-scale construction (solar, wind, and/or BESS)
  • Proven experience delivering projects through construction and final completion
  • Strong background in:
    • EPC contract execution and administration
    • Project scheduling, cost control, and risk management
    • Renewable energy systems (solar PV, wind, BESS)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and drive project outcomes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites (~50%)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $180,000 - $220,000 (depending on experience and location)
  • Annual bonus potential- up to 30%
