Structural Engineer
Position Overview:
My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and inspecting structural systems for a variety of commercial, residential, and industrial projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems.
- Develop and review structural plans, specifications, and calculations in compliance with IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI standards.
- Prepare construction documents including drawings, details, and technical specifications.
- Conduct site visits for structural observations and inspections.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure project success.
- Respond to RFIs and review shop drawings.
- Utilize structural software such as RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, and AutoCAD/Revit.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national building codes.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 3-8 years of experience in structural engineering design and analysis.
- Proficiency in structural design software and BIM tools.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
