Transmission Interconnection Manager
Currently looking for a Transmission Interconnection Manager to join a growing team with a leading IPP! This position will support the IPP's transmission interconnection team, analyzing the transmission system and power markets to support development and operations, managing external consultants performing special studies, and managing the interconnection queue. This is an exciting opportunity to join a firm leading renewable energy efforts, focusing on utility-scale battery energy storage projects.
This is a hybrid position (2-3 days/week) out of Chicago, Austin, or Houston.
The Transmission Interconnection Manager will be responsible for:
- Performing transmission planning studies (power flow, load flow, steady state, short circuit, stability, & dynamic simulations)
- Expertise in PSS/E, TARA, PSLF or similar software (PSCAD, EMTP, PowerWorld, ASPEN, CAPE, etc.)
- Managing the interconnection queue (interconnection applications, negotiations, etc.)
- Communicating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and other entities
The Transmission Interconnection Manager should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related
- 3+ years of electric utility/transmission planning experience
- 2+ year of project management/interconnection queue management experience
- Power flow modeling experience in PSS/E, TARA, and/or PSLF
- Experience working directly with RTOs/ISOs (PJM, MISO, ERCOT, etc.)
