Transportation Project Engineer/Manager
LVI is currently partnered with a transportation industry giant that are going through significant growth and are now looking to expand further. We are working with them on a technically strong transportation engineer or manager to support and lead civil aviation infrastructure projects. Whether or not you have direct aviation experience, this role offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic sector and contribute to the expansion of a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Leadership
- Lead civil engineering tasks and sub-tasks across aviation infrastructure projects.
- Develop scopes, budgets, and schedules; monitor progress and manage risks.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to ensure project alignment.
- Prepare and maintain project management plans and quality control documentation.
- Communicate project status and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support proposal development, client presentations, and marketing efforts.
- Manage project financials, including invoicing and progress reporting.
Technical Oversight
- Oversee design activities using advanced engineering principles and software tools.
- Perform or review design computations, contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Ensure compliance with client guidelines, FAA standards, and industry best practices.
- Conduct alternative studies and prepare technical reports.
- Provide consultative services to clients and attend project meetings.
Team Development
- Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to learn best practices and technical standards.
- Receive mentorship and coaching from senior leaders within the business to support your professional growth.
- Engage in project debriefs and lessons-learned sessions to continuously improve.
- Mentor and coach design staff and junior engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 7+ years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in aviation infrastructure but NOT required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer/MicroStation.
- Strong communication, presentation, and proposal writing skills.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
