Wastewater Project Engineer - Springfield
My client, a well-established and employee-owned civil and environmental engineering firm, is seeking a Wastewater Project Engineer to join their growing team in Springfield. This is an exciting opportunity to support a range of wastewater pipeline, sewer, treatment, and process conveyance projects while collaborating with a talented team of engineers and gaining experience on impactful infrastructure work across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Support planning, design, and construction of wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and engineering analyses.
Assist with detailed design tasks including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permitting.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality project solutions.
Perform site visits and support construction administration services, including submittal reviews and RFIs.
Contribute to QA/QC efforts under the direction of senior engineers and project managers.
Participate in client meetings and help build relationships through responsive, high-quality work.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; PE license or path to licensure strongly preferred.
5+ years of relevant experience in wastewater or water infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with treatment processes, sewer and pipeline design, and hydraulic modeling.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or other engineering design software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Experience with construction administration or field inspection.
Involvement in professional organizations such as WEF, ASCE, or APWA.
