Position: Application Engineer
Overview: We are seeking a skilled Application Engineer to join our engineering team. This role involves designing solutions for complex water treatment applications and providing consultancy to both internal and external stakeholders before project awards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate Specifications: Assess customer requirements to determine appropriate treatment solutions and generate accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and cost estimates.
- Prepare Proposals: Complete bids and proposals by the required deadlines.
- Product Testing: Confirm product performance through operational tests and research.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Design Support: Create preliminary process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and layout drawings.
- Engineering Assistance: Provide support by responding to questions and requests from within and outside the organization.
- Resource Coordination: Seek external resources to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and obtain technical support.
- Additional Tasks: Perform other duties or projects as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Two to five years of related experience and/or training; proficiency in AutoCAD and designing piping systems.
- Skills: Ability to perform necessary calculations for drawing creation, apply common sense to follow instructions, and read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
- Communication: Strong ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and effectively present information.
Physical Demands:
- Activity: Regularly required to sit, use hands, and talk/hear; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lifting: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000, FLSA exempt.
Travel: Occasionally travel to customer sites or trade shows (approximately 5%).
