Architect
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Architect/Manager to lead the design and execution of Data Center and Mission Critical projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and security systems, and will be adept at managing complex projects from conception through completion. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, resilient, and efficient facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architectural design and planning of data centers and mission-critical facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Manage project lifecycles, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
Coordinate with engineering disciplines (MEP, structural, civil) to integrate architectural designs seamlessly.
Oversee construction administration, including site visits, contractor coordination, and quality assurance.
Develop and maintain project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
Mentor junior architects and support staff, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in data center design and operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
Registered Architect (RA) license preferred but not required.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural design, with at least 2 years focused on data centers or mission-critical facilities.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
Strong understanding of data center systems, including HVAC, electrical, and fire protection.
Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with sustainability and energy efficiency standards (e.g., LEED, Uptime Institute).
Preferred Skills
Experience with government or defense-related projects, including knowledge of security clearance processes.
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or data center design (e.g., CDCDP).
Knowledge of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools and practices.
Ability to analyze and optimize data center performance metrics, including PUE and cooling efficiency.
