Their portfolio spans coast to coast, showcasing landmark infrastructure and commercial projects including the Purple Line (D Line) Extensions in Los Angeles, the SR 99 Viaduct Replacement Tunnel in Seattle, the MGM Grand and City Center developments in Las Vegas, the Third Street Light Rail in San Francisco, Minute Maid Park in Houston, along with numerous airport expansions and data center installations.

My client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of complex electrical and technology infrastructure projects. This role involves working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to assist in planning, scheduling, and managing various aspects of assigned projects.

The Assistant Project Manager may take ownership of specific project components and is expected to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Support the development of the master project schedule and quality control plans
  • Assist with subcontractor procurement and contract buyout within established timelines
  • Contribute to the creation of site-specific safety and logistics plans
  • Help implement project-specific quality assurance programs
  • Participate in punch list walkthroughs and documentation
  • Coordinate and document owner training sessions
  • Prepare operations and maintenance manuals, including warranty documentation
  • Monitor project costs and assist in budget management
  • Maintain and update project schedules
  • Actively participate in planning and coordination meetings
  • Identify and communicate potential risks related to cost, schedule, or client satisfaction
  • Assist in preparing monthly project status reports and executive summaries

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of five years' experience in construction, design, finance, or project management
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, Expedition, MS Word, Excel, AIA Contract Documents)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, and construction documentation
