Overview:
Established Massachusetts-based contractor is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager to join their team. This role supports project execution for electrical utility distribution, substation construction, and renewable energy projects across the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager with administrative and technical tasks: contract administration, change orders, submittals, purchasing, budgets, cost coding, and resource allocation
- Attend project planning meetings and maintain focus on meeting/exceeding customer expectations
- Ensure projects are completed safely, profitably, and on schedule
- Inspect sites; review design for code compliance and contract adherence
- Prepare RFIs, letters, and notices; maintain complete records of project documents and specifications
- Track project progress against goals, timelines, and budgets
- Generate construction As-Built documentation and maintain latest approved documents
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience (solar preferred)
- BS in Electrical Engineering preferred (Civil Engineering or Construction Management considered with experience)
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CPM scheduling, RFIs, submittals, and payment analysis
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Valid driver's license required

- Experience with large-scale facilities or Federal/state contracts
