Construction Manager - Solar
We are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate solar energy construction projects from initiation through completion. You will ensure all work adheres to schedules, budgets, quality expectations, and safety standards while leading teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Project Planning & Leadership
- Provide leadership during the early planning phases by collaborating with clients, engineers, architects, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, and materials requirements.
Scheduling & Budget Management
- Create and manage construction schedules, allocating time and resources to meet established deadlines.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, while maintaining regular communication with clients regarding costs and financial progress.
- Ensure adherence to budgets and implement timely adjustments when unexpected issues arise.
Construction Oversight
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction and maintenance activities for assigned structures, facilities, and systems.
- Enforce all safety standards, jobsite protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Select, contract, and supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure work quality and adherence to project specifications.
Contract & Stakeholder Coordination
- Lead contract negotiations, revisions, and oversight to ensure compliance by all parties.
- Collaborate with clients, supervisors, contractors, and design professionals to resolve construction or design challenges.
- Manage actions and decisions required due to delays, weather impacts, or onsite emergencies.
Relationship Management
- Maintain strong working relationships with owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespeople, and craft workers.
- Perform additional related duties as needed to support successful project execution.
Who You Are: A Profile of Success
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in renewable energy construction required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or Bluebeam strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Ability to remain agile and efficient in a fast‑paced environment.
- Skilled at making sound, timely decisions under pressure or during unexpected conditions.
- Effective multitasker with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering, architectural, and construction drawings.
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
