Renton, WA | $115,000 - $145,000 Base Salary + Bonus

A well-established heavy civil contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of infrastructure and utility construction projects throughout the Greater Seattle area. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing all phases of construction projects from award through closeout
  • Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking efforts
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Help develop and maintain project schedules
  • Track project progress and identify potential risks or delays
  • Participate in owner, consultant, and subcontractor meetings
  • Ensure contract requirements and project objectives are achieved
  • Assist with procurement of materials and equipment
  • Support project reporting and communication with internal and external stakeholders

Experience Needed

  • 2+ years of construction project management, project engineering, or field engineering experience
  • Experience supporting heavy civil, infrastructure, utility, transportation, water/wastewater, or municipal construction projects
  • Exposure to project budgeting, scheduling, and cost control
  • Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Understanding of construction contracts, change management, and project documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with construction project management software is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
