Summary
The Assistant Superintendent supports all field operations and assists in coordinating the work of subcontractors. This role helps ensure full implementation of the Safety/Zero Harm program and contributes to supervising field construction-both subcontracted and self-performed. The Assistant Superintendent works closely with the Superintendent and project manager during the preconstruction and construction phases to help maintain project schedules, support budget adherence, and ensure work is performed according to company policies and procedures. The position also assists in managing field personnel and contributing to a positive, safety-focused project culture.
Essential Functions
- Assist with Project Financial Responsibilities
- Support Preconstruction Services
- Assist with Project Scheduling (P6 experience preferred)
- Support Site Logistics Planning
- Participate in Project Administration, Operations, and Close-out activities
- Help Foster Customer Relationships
- Support Culture, Leadership, and Employee Development initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of corrections and/or large commercial construction field experience
- Experience supervising craft workers or assisting with subcontractor oversight
- Proficiency with personal computers and common communication tools, including email, internet, and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Office, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Experience with scheduling software (P6 preferred)
- Ability to understand and assist with maintaining site logistics plans
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering
- Previous experience supporting a superintendent on large or complex projects
