Project Scheduler (Airport Construction)
Role Overview
The P6 Construction Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing the integrated master schedule for a large-scale airport construction project. This role ensures schedule accuracy, critical path visibility, risk identification, and alignment between multiple stakeholders including contractors, designers, airport authorities, and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate has strong Primavera P6 expertise, aviation-sector experience, and a deep understanding of complex, multi-phased construction operations within active airport environments.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule Development & Management
- Develop and maintain the Primavera P6 baseline and updated schedules, incorporating work breakdown structures (WBS), activity coding, logic ties, calendars, and resources.
- Prepare detailed construction phasing plans for work adjacent to active airfields, terminals, utilities, and secured areas.
- Integrate schedules from multiple contractors, vendors, and design teams into a cohesive Program Master Schedule.
- Track and report schedule progress using critical path method (CPM) best practices.
Analysis & Reporting
- Perform critical path analysis, schedule variance analysis, "What‑If" scenarios, and delay impact assessments.
- Prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for project leadership and airport authority clients.
- Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities; recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support claims analysis, including time impact analysis (TIA) and forensic schedule reviews.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Collaborate with construction teams, estimators, engineers, and subcontractors to collect accurate status updates.
- Facilitate weekly and monthly schedule review meetings, ensuring alignment with airport operations and stakeholder requirements.
- Coordinate phasing with airport operations, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, safety management systems (SMS), and security protocols.
Compliance & Technical
- Ensure schedules adhere to project specifications, contract requirements, and Airport Authority standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation, schedule backup files, and audit trails.
- Support Project Controls with earned value management (EVM), cost/schedule integration, and resource forecasting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- 3-7+ years of experience in construction scheduling, preferably on airport or aviation-related projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required).
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods, and multi-disciplinary work coordination.
- Experience with CPM scheduling, TIA, critical path analysis, and schedule risk management.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with FAA, TSA, airport authorities, or projects in operational aviation environments.
- Knowledge of airfield construction (taxiways, runways, apron work) or terminal construction (MEP-heavy, phased work).
- Proficiency with additional tools: Oracle Primavera Analytics, Power BI, MS Project, Synchro 4D, or other BIM scheduling tools.
- Certifications such as PSP (AACE), PMP (PMI), or PMI‑SP.
