Assistant Transmission Project Manager
About the Role
A rapidly growing transmission development firm is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead real estate acquisition and right-of-entry (ROE) efforts. This newly created position offers the opportunity to work on utility-scale infrastructure projects, applying technical expertise in engineering, surveying, and legal documentation.
Work Arrangement
- Preferred Location: Columbus, OH (within 1 hour of office)
- Hybrid Model: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote (if within commuting distance)
- Fully Remote: Available for candidates outside the region
- Travel: 10-20% annually to project sites and headquarters
- Open to Candidates From: KY, WV, IN, MI, PA (especially eastern PA)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage approximately 10 active projects
- Oversee consultants and subconsultants across ROE, environmental, legal, and engineering disciplines
- Guide NEPA documentation processes
- Coordinate acquisition of easements and rights-of-entry, including negotiations with property owners
- Interpret legal documents such as deeds, leases, and easements
- Review survey drawings and engineering plans
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience acquiring ROEs for utilities, municipalities, or transportation departments
- Background in distribution-side infrastructure (gas, water, sewer, communications)
- Strong project management skills with technical exposure to engineering and surveying
- Real estate knowledge including appraisal and sales
- Familiarity with legal aspects of property acquisition
