BAS Controls Technician - Summary
Certified Controls Systems seeks a BAS Controls Technician responsible for commissioning, servicing, and maintaining building automation systems using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic technologies. Key duties include system startup, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining accurate As‑Built documentation. The role requires strong customer interaction, clear communication, and consistent safety awareness.
Essential Responsibilities
- Commission, re‑commission, and troubleshoot BAS systems and control panels.
- Perform point‑to‑point checkout, diagnostics, and calibration using electronic test equipment.
- Update and maintain As‑Built drawings (Visio, Excel, Word).
- Configure operator workstations and perform static/dynamic software commissioning.
- Track project progress, complete documentation, and communicate with project managers.
- Provide on‑site service, repairs, and customer support; maintain professional client relationships.
- Review scope, attend meetings, prepare sketches, and support installation/startup as needed.
- Read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings; work independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications
- 5+ years electrical experience (120VAC/24VAC/24VDC/12VDC) and low‑voltage control systems.
- 5+ years mechanical system experience (chillers, AHUs, VAVs, boilers).
- Knowledge of ALC, Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls, or Alerton is a plus.
- Strong BAS commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer‑service skills.
