Senior Wildlife Biologist / Permitting Specialist

A growing environmental consulting firm is seeking an experienced biologist to support complex natural resources projects throughout California. This role offers the opportunity to lead biological and permitting efforts for utility, infrastructure, renewable energy, and land development projects while working closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead biological resource assessments, habitat evaluations, and environmental compliance efforts.
  • Develop and execute permitting strategies for a variety of projects with state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with agencies, clients, and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, permit applications, and environmental documentation.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff.

What They're Looking For

  • Consulting experience in biological resources, environmental compliance, or permitting.
  • Strong technical writing and project management skills.
  • Experience with regulatory agency coordination and environmental permitting.
  • Knowledge of California and federal environmental regulations, including CEQA/NEPA.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively within a growing team.
