Job Title: BMS Expert
Location: Singapore
Travel Requirement: Approximately 50% travel to Batam starting Q4 2025
Role Summary
An experienced Building Management System (BMS) Consultant is sought to lead the design, review, and implementation of Schneider Electric BMS and associated OT systems for a new data centre project. The consultant will represent the client in evaluating vendor submissions, verifying installations, and ensuring secure, scalable, and standards-compliant deployment. The role also involves supporting cybersecurity efforts by defining secure OT architecture and maintaining clear separation between OT and IT environments.
Responsibilities
- Review and challenge vendor submissions including architecture, points lists, logic diagrams, and commissioning plans.
- Validate integration of BMS with EPMS, fire safety, access control, and other OT systems.
- Ensure adherence to open protocols (BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP), design guidelines, and project specifications.
- Define and enforce naming conventions, alarm structures, and integration logic.
- Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Design OT network segmentation in line with the Purdue Model and IEC 62443 standards.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to validate secure remote access, patching policies, and audit mechanisms.
- Document workflows, interfaces, and long-term maintenance requirements for future expansion.
- Provide structured knowledge transfer to local operations and technical teams.
- Assist in recruiting or onboarding permanent BMS/OT personnel if the role is not retained fulltime.
- Deliver training materials and comprehensive handover documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in BMS, controls, or OT integration for critical infrastructure (e.g., data centres, hospitals, airports).
- Hands-on experience with Schneider Electric BMS platforms (e.g., EcoStruxure).
- Strong understanding of OT and IT cybersecurity frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISO27001).
- Familiarity with SCADA, HMI, controllers, gateways, and OT network architecture.
- Proven ability to manage vendors, review technical designs, and commission BMS systems.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
