A nationally respected engineering consulting firm is seeking a Bridge Design Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join its expanding transportation team. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful bridge and structural projects that support safer, more sustainable, and better-connected communities.
Whether you're a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or actively working toward licensure, this position provides mentorship, technical growth, and exposure to a wide range of infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis, load ratings, and foundation design for bridge and transportation structures.
- Prepare design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documentation.
- Maintain organized records of design reports, calculations, and budgets.
- Assist project managers with scheduling, documentation, and client presentations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Support quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Conduct field inspections and prepare detailed reports.
- Provide technical support during construction phases, including responding to RFIs and attending site visits.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 5-10 years of experience in transportation and bridge design engineering.
- PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
- Proficiency in MicroStation, STAAD, and bridge design software.
- Familiarity with state DOT design standards is a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
