Building Automation Field Specialist
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Engineer with a strong background in Building Automation Systems (BAS) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience working with Johnson Controls (JCI) OR Tridium Niagara Framework, and a proven ability to deliver high-quality technical solutions in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and commission BAS systems, including JCI Metasys and Tridium Niagara platforms.
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on automation systems and field devices.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and modify control strategies, graphics, and system integration logic.
- Conduct site surveys and provide technical recommendations for system upgrades or retrofits.
- Maintain accurate documentation including as-built drawings, programming files, and service reports.
- Provide training and support to end-users and facility teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in BAS field engineering or related role.
- Proficiency in Johnson Controls Metasys and Tridium Niagara AX/N4 platforms.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical controls, and networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and control schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Niagara Certification (AX/N4).
- JCI Technical Training or Certification.
- Experience with integration of third-party systems.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices in BAS environments.
