Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Controls Engineer to join our clients team, specializing in Automated Logic (ALC) DDC systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ALC controls and either prior experience with submittals or a strong willingness to learn and grow in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, and commission Automated Logic DDC systems for HVAC and building automation projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and design engineers to develop and review submittals, including control drawings, sequences of operation, and equipment specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of submittal packages for client and contractor approval.
  • Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Support field technicians and subcontractors during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and project deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in building automation or controls engineering.
  • Proficiency with Automated Logic WebCTRL and associated hardware/software.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and control strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and take ownership of the submittal process.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience preparing submittals for building automation or MEP projects.
  • Knowledge of BACnet and other open protocols.
  • Understanding of construction project workflows and documentation standards.
  • AutoCAD or Visio experience for control drawings.
