This role is with a growing engineering consultancy that provides full-service engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) solutions to industrial process manufacturers across various sectors, including pulp & paper, chemical, consumer products, and food & beverage. Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with leadership within the Consumer Products sector to define and implement strategic market approaches. This role focuses on building and managing client relationships, generating and nurturing leads, overseeing proposal development, securing contracts, and ensuring ongoing client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving business growth through the acquisition of new clients and expansion within existing accounts.

  • Identifying client needs and collaborating with internal engineering and commercial teams to develop compelling value propositions.

  • Managing the entire sales cycle, from opportunity qualification to contract closure.

  • Monitoring industry trends and capital project activity to tailor service offerings effectively.

  • Leading client-centric, solution-oriented sales engagements that reinforce the firm's reputation as a trusted advisor.

  • Creating and refining marketing and sales collateral relevant to the industry.

  • Networking within the sector and contributing as a thought leader.

  • Providing market intelligence on competitors and helping shape competitive strategies.

  • Ensuring smooth handover and resource allocation for sold projects within a matrixed team environment.

  • Participating in project delivery oversight as needed and maintaining a strong presence with key client contacts.

  • Leading and mentoring other members of the business development team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, collaborative, and passionate about delivering value through engineering expertise. They should demonstrate strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge conventional approaches in order to drive innovation.

Qualifications include:

  • Background in the Consumer Products sector, ideally in engineering, maintenance, or construction roles.

  • In-depth understanding of engineering services and construction consulting practices.

  • Experience managing or executing engineering design and project delivery initiatives.

  • Proven success in selling engineering or construction management services within the consumer products space.

  • Proactive, results-driven, and client-focused with a strong understanding of the sector's needs and priorities.
