Lead Significant Transportation Projects Across Texas

An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a CEI Lead to support and grow transportation construction inspection operations throughout Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned CEI professional who thrives in a leadership role, enjoys mentoring teams, building client relationships, and driving project success across a diverse portfolio of TxDOT projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation construction inspection, experience leading project teams, and the ability to serve as a trusted partner to agency clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead CEI operations and inspection teams on transportation infrastructure projects across Texas.
  • Manage project delivery, staffing, schedules, budgets, and quality control.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor, train, and develop inspectors and field staff.
  • Ensure compliance with TxDOT standards, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight on construction activities, documentation, and project reporting.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities and assisting with client relationship management.
  • Participate in proposal development, interviews, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate resources across multiple projects and offices throughout Texas.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Transportation CEI/Construction Inspection experience.
  • Strong knowledge of TxDOT construction practices, specifications, and procedures.
  • Previous experience leading inspection teams, project staff, or CEI programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the state.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience serving as a Lead Inspector, Senior Inspector, Construction Manager, CEI Project Manager, or CEI Lead.
  • TxDOT certifications.
  • Experience supporting business development, project pursuits, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Existing relationships within the Texas transportation market.
