Bridge Project Engineer - Illinois-Based Opportunity
A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Bridge Project Engineer to assist senior staff and contribute to transportation infrastructure projects across Illinois. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on high-impact bridge design projects for state and local agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the structural design efforts within the transportation and bridge engineering team.
- Develop designs for bridges, retaining walls, sea walls, roadways, underground utilities, and other infrastructure enhancements.
- Support senior engineers in crafting project proposals and outlining strategic approaches.
- Deliver civil engineering services to municipal, county, and state agencies.
- Prepare engineering drawings and specifications in compliance with State Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
- Manage Federal Aid project processes across a diverse client base.
- Collaborate with project engineers and managers, providing key input and making impactful decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in structural design coursework.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in transportation bridge projects for municipal or highway agencies.
- Experience using industry standard softwares including but not limited to AutoCAD, Microstation, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, STAAD, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with at least 5 years of experience on bridge related projects.
- Project experience with IDOT or the Illinois Tollway Association
- Proficient in bridge design principles and execution
