The same Pacific Northwest engineering firm from the previous posting is also looking to add a Project Manager to its Lacey team. A well-established name in the region with a decentralized structure that gives each office the autonomy to pursue work aligned with local strengths. Project types span commercial site development, municipal infrastructure, parks and recreation, multi-family residential, water systems, sewer lift stations, and roadway improvements.
The Role
A project management position with direct client ownership, team leadership, and accountability across the full project lifecycle. You'll manage multiple active projects simultaneously while supervising design engineers and drafters and maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage and/or design civil engineering projects from kickoff through construction administration
- Serve as primary client contact for project coordination and design
- Supervise and direct design engineers and drafters
- Establish project fees, schedules, and budgets and track performance against commitments
- Ensure technical quality and content across all deliverables
- Handle permitting coordination with various municipalities
- Communicate with clients, contractors, municipalities, and design consultants
- Attend site visits and field inspections as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field
- Washington State PE license
- 4+ years of civil engineering project management experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Knowledge of Washington State codes, regulations, and site development standards
- Permitting experience with various municipalities
- Ability to manage multiple active projects concurrently
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across both public agency and private developer project types
- Track record of client relationship management and repeat business
- Comfortable leading and mentoring junior engineering staff
Compensation
- $95,000 to $145,000 depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus
