Civil/Structural Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Develop and review civil and structural drawings, specifications, and calculations, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, IEC, UL, local permitting).
- Support design efforts for grading, drainage, erosion control, stormwater management, and structural components such as beams, columns, slabs, and foundations.
- Analyze structural loads (dead, live, wind, seismic) and contribute to cost-effective, durable design solutions.
- Review vendor documentation and provide feedback to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Conduct site visits to verify construction quality and adherence to design and safety standards.
- Collaborate across disciplines to maintain effective communication and coordination throughout project phases.
- Assist with preconstruction and proposal activities, including cost estimation, quantity takeoffs, and manpower planning.
- Evaluate renewable energy technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
- Provide procurement and general project support as needed, including tasks assigned by the executive team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering field.
- 2-4 years of experience in the electrical utility or renewable energy sector; construction experience preferred.
- Proficiency in civil/structural design techniques, especially for solar PV, BESS, and substation projects.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe; experience with Bluebeam, MicroStation, Procore, Revit, and PVSyst is a plus.
- OSHA safety training preferred; occasional travel required.
