Commissioning Manager, Utility Scale Solar

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager in the Utility Scale Solar market to manage and oversee the commissioning process of large-scale projects. Ensure that systems, facilities, or equipment are installed, tested, and functioning as intended before being handed over to the client.

Requirements:

• Direct all commissioning activities across utility-scale solar installations, ensuring alignment with project timelines and client expectations.
• Develop and implement standardized procedures for quality control, performance verification, and documentation throughout the commissioning lifecycle.
• Lead and mentor a team of commissioning professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Coordinate and execute commissioning and system startup in accordance with technical manuals and operational guidelines.
• Prepare and manage site-specific commissioning documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
• Oversee third-party testing and validation processes; review and approve all related reports and certifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure seamless integration of systems.
• Conduct periodic site inspections and audits to verify system performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and a commitment to excellence.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• Occasional travel to project sites may be required, including overnight stays.

Qualifications & Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and strong command of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a focus on technical documentation and client interaction.
• Experience supporting client engagement and participating in project-related meetings and discussions.
• Strong technical writing and reading comprehension skills, particularly with engineering documentation and schematics.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and with external stakeholders, fostering clear and productive communication.
• Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical principles relevant to solar energy systems.
• Proven experience in team leadership, including training, coordination, and performance oversight.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and cost management within construction or commissioning environments.
• Hands-on experience with commissioning procedures, system startup, and operational protocols for solar energy projects.
• Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to guide field operations.
• Capable of organizing and directing commissioning teams across various phases of construction.
• Experience supervising testing and startup of electrical systems, including high, medium, low voltage, and DC components.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to guide teams and make informed decisions.
• Competent in preparing reports, drafting professional correspondence, and presenting findings or recommendations to groups.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on troubleshooting and performance data evaluation.
• Comfortable using various software tools to support project execution and reporting.
