Associate Commissioning Engineer

  • Charlotte, NC Area (Project Site in York, SC)

A leading engineering and technology solutions provider is seeking an Associate Commissioning Engineer to support the testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems on complex infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on field experience while working alongside experienced commissioning professionals.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the testing, startup, and commissioning of electrical power distribution equipment
  • Assist with commissioning plans, electrical sketches, documentation, and data sheets
  • Review supplier and vendor documentation for compliance with project specifications
  • Perform routine electrical calculations and technical analysis
  • Participate in inspections and testing of electrical systems and components
  • Develop familiarity with switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, protection relays, UPS systems, and power monitoring equipment
  • Prepare technical reports and commissioning documentation
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project teams, and clients to help ensure successful project delivery
  • Travel periodically to project and customer sites as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of basic electrical engineering principles and power systems
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Familiarity with electrical testing, commissioning, or power distribution systems is a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Interest in field engineering, commissioning, and mission-critical infrastructure projects
