Commissioning Manager (Adelaide)
We are representing a leading Contractor seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to oversee commissioning and handover across a diverse portfolio including healthcare, education, commercial, defence, civic, and hotel projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end commissioning and handover activities to ensure systems are delivered fully operational and defect-free
- Develop and manage commissioning and witnessing schedules
- Oversee testing, validation, and performance of building services systems (mechanical, electrical)
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client teams to drive successful project delivery
- Manage multiple stakeholders across complex projects, ensuring alignment and timely resolution of issues
- Lead and mentor a small team of commissioning engineers (typically 3-5 direct reports)
- Contribute to reducing post-handover issues through robust commissioning processes
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing commissioning on large-scale projects
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate across multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience across sectors such as healthcare, education, or commercial projects highly regarded
Operational Handover
- Ensure all documentation and procedures are complete and appropriate for use.
- Close out critical defects and minimise any residual risks prior to handover.
- Focus on Risk, Quality, and Continuous Improvement standards.
- Promote a zero-critical-defect approach while maintaining full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
