A well‑established general contractor based in Fort Myers is seeking a talented Construction Estimator with strong experience in sitework, heavy civil, or marine construction. This individual will play a key role in supporting the organization's continued growth across Florida by delivering accurate, timely, and competitive bids for both public and private sector projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing detailed and accurate estimates for sitework, heavy civil, or marine construction projects.
- Reviewing project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to identify scope, risks, and value‑engineering opportunities.
- Performing quantity takeoffs and developing cost models based on labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor pricing, and historical data.
- Coordinating with internal operations teams and trusted trade partners to ensure estimates are aligned with real‑world production expectations.
- Participating in pre‑bid meetings, jobsite visits, and project turnover discussions as needed.
- Tracking bid progress, market trends, and competitive insights to strengthen future proposals.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- Estimating experience in site development, utilities, earthwork, roadway/heavy civil, or marine construction.
- Proficiency with estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Solid understanding of Florida construction practices, soil conditions, and permitting considerations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
