Construction Manager

Overview:
The Construction Manager will lead and coordinate all construction activities for assigned EPC projects, ensuring optimal use of resources and full compliance with project specifications, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements. This role is critical to delivering safe, high-quality, and timely project outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of construction performance, procedures, and provide recommendations for improvement to project leadership.
  • Manage contractors and site teams with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and adherence to engineering standards, codes, and schedules.
  • Develop and execute construction strategies that balance scope, cost, time, resources, safety, and quality.
  • Proactively identify and prevent issues related to safety, quality, progress, and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot critical project milestones and optimize resource deployment to ensure timely delivery.
  • Lead construction planning and integration to meet budget and schedule targets.
  • Plan and manage manpower and equipment resources effectively.
  • Monitor construction progress and performance against project plans.
  • Resolve operational challenges to minimize delays and cost impacts.
  • Lead, delegate, and motivate the construction team to meet project deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards from the organization, clients, and authorities.
  • Integrate HSE and risk-based thinking into daily operations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure quality standards from design and client specifications are met.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, clients, subcontractors, and government authorities.
  • Support commissioning and handover activities in collaboration with operations teams.
  • Facilitate regular and ad-hoc stakeholder meetings.
  • Present construction updates and reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Participate in site audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.
  • Adhere to corporate procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise collection of site data for analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities and maintain a strong risk management focus.
  • Contribute to the development of corporate construction sequences and support tendering activities when needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas or Energy Infrastructure projects, especially in Southeast Asia.
  • At least 5 years in a senior construction management role on major LNG or Oil & Gas projects.
  • Advanced degree in Construction Management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with modern construction methods, project management tools, and environmental engineering practices.
  • Strong knowledge of contract coordination, constructability reviews, site planning, and progress tracking.
  • Experience managing construction interfaces, especially with marine contractors.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute full construction lifecycles from inception to completion.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for business and relocate to project sites as needed.
