Consultant - Antitrust

A well‑regarded economic consulting firm is looking to hire a Consultant to join its Boston‑based Antitrust and Competition team. The firm advises on complex, high‑stakes litigation and regulatory matters and is known for delivering rigorous, data‑driven economic analysis in a collaborative and intellectually demanding environment.

This role is well suited to candidates with 3-5 years of relevant experience who are ready to take on greater responsibility across antitrust matters while continuing to deepen their technical and case‑management skills.

The Role

As a Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting antitrust engagements across all stages of a matter. You'll work closely with senior team members, testifying experts, and legal counsel on issues such as market definition, competitive effects, and damages. The role offers significant exposure to complex analyses, direct involvement in case strategy, and the opportunity to develop strong client‑facing skills.

You'll be expected to contribute independently to analytical workstreams, manage discrete pieces of projects, and produce clear, well‑structured economic analysis that can withstand scrutiny in litigation and regulatory settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct economic and econometric analyses relating to antitrust litigation and regulatory investigations.
  • Support senior team members in developing case strategy and economic frameworks.
  • Prepare models, analyses, and written materials for use in expert reports and client deliverables.
  • Work with large and complex datasets, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and reproducibility.
  • Collaborate closely with Analysts and senior colleagues as part of small, focused case teams.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing, training, and recruiting initiatives as appropriate.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in economics and prior exposure to antitrust matters, and be keen to continue building a long‑term career in economic consulting.

  • Master's or PhD in Economics or a closely related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in economic consulting, competition authorities, or a related analytical role.
  • Prior experience working on antitrust or competition matters is strongly preferred.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with experience handling complex datasets.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain economic concepts to non‑economists.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Why This Opportunity

This is an opportunity to work on challenging antitrust matters within a high‑calibre team that values collaboration, intellectual rigor, and professional development. The firm offers meaningful responsibility, close interaction with senior practitioners, and a clear path for progression as you continue to grow within the practice.
