Overview: A leading global engineering consultancy is seeking a highly skilled Cost Manager (Assistant Manager to Associate level) to join their team in Osaka, Japan. This role requires a bilingual professional fluent in both English and Japanese, with extensive experience in cost management within the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Lead and manage cost management services for various projects, ensuring accurate cost forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide cost-effective solutions that align with project goals.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of cost management professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis, risk assessments, and value engineering to optimize project costs and enhance efficiency.
- Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive cost reports, including variance analysis and recommendations for cost control measures.
- Compliance: Ensure all cost management activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in cost management, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications such as MRICS or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in cost management software and tools, such as CostX, Bluebeam, and MS Excel.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Cultural Awareness: Understanding of Japanese business practices and culture, with the ability to navigate and build relationships in a multicultural setting.
