About the Director of Project Management Position

The Director of Project Management is responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of solar energy projects, from early-stage planning through final commissioning. This leadership position requires strong strategic capability, operational oversight, and excellent coordination across teams to ensure projects meet established timelines, financial targets, and quality expectations.

The Director will lead a team of project managers and collaborate closely with departments such as engineering, procurement, construction, and energy operations. The role is critical to ensuring that each project is executed efficiently, aligns with organizational goals, and complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.


 


Responsibilities of Director of Project Management

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop detailed project plans outlining scope, schedule, resources, and budget requirements.
  • Guide projects through each phase, ensuring key milestones and deliverables are achieved.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and other technical teams to maintain seamless execution.
  • Track progress using appropriate project management tools and methodologies.

Quality Assurance

Qualifications for Director of Project Management

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of project management experience, with 5 years in a leadership capacity within the solar or broader renewable energy sector.
  • Demonstrated success managing large‑scale commercial or industrial solar projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management frameworks, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar platforms).
