Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company's safety program across all heavy civil operations, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct jobsite audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments; drive corrective actions.
- Partner with project teams to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure safe planning before work begins.
- Track safety performance metrics and present regular reports to senior leadership.
- Oversee safety onboarding, certifications, and ongoing employee training.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of safety leadership experience in heavy civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and industry best practices.
- Experience with utility-focused work (stormwater, sewer, watermain) strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence culture, and manage safety for complex field operations.
- Relevant certifications (CHST, CSP, OSHA 500/510) are a plus.
