Director - Power Generation & Infrastructure
Overview:
This leadership role is responsible for managing the mechanical design and execution of large-scale power generation projects (25-200MW), including both simple and combined cycle combustion turbine systems. The position combines technical expertise, project oversight, and team leadership to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the mechanical engineering lead for utility-scale power generation projects.
- Oversee and mentor mechanical engineering teams, ensuring technical excellence and quality control.
- Perform and review engineering calculations, modeling, and code compliance.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to meet performance targets.
- Lead internal and client meetings, ensuring clear communication and follow-through on deliverables.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
- Support proposal development, cost estimating, and contract preparation.
- Maintain strong client relationships to support business development and repeat engagements.
- Ensure accurate project accounting, invoicing, and compliance with financial procedures.
- Represent the organization at industry events and support marketing initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on IPP and utility-scale turbine projects.
- Expertise with combustion turbines (GE, Siemens, Solar) and associated mechanical systems.
- Experience with BIM tools and multidisciplinary project execution.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, piping design, and construction-phase coordination.
- Familiarity with pipe stress analysis is a plus.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit experience preferred.
- Effective communicator with strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Fluent in English.
