Distribution Staker (GA, AZ, TN, TX, VA)
A well-established engineering consulting firm specializing in utility infrastructure is seeking a Distribution Staker to support electric distribution design projects. This field-based role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in electric distribution systems - especially formerly lineworks - who are looking to transition into technical design work. They are open to the following locations:
- Norcross, GA
- Scottsdale, AZ
- Gallatin, TN
- Addison, TX
- Chantilly, VA
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field assessments and design overhead and underground electric distribution lines.
- Generate staking sheets, plan/profile diagrams, and material lists.
- Coordinate with utility clients and construction teams to define scopes of work.
- Perform basic electrical and physical analysis (i.e., voltage drop, pole loading, line sag).
- Use specialized software to model and document distribution systems.
- Travel to project sites.
Qualifications:
- 3-10 years of experience in electric distribution systems; field experience preferred.
- Familiarity with staking and design software such as PoleForeman, SPIDAcalc, or Katapult is a plus.
- Strong understanding of NESC standards and utility construction practices.
