Education Project Architect/Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Education Project Architect / Project Manager to lead K-12 school design projects in either our Seattle or Spokane office. This is an opportunity for a seasoned architect who is passionate about educational environments, excels in project leadership, and is ready to guide teams through all phases of delivery.
About the Role
As an Education Project Architect / Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, design, and execution of K-12 education projects-from early visioning through construction administration. You will serve as a client-facing leader, mentor project teams, and ensure design excellence, technical rigor, and smooth project management throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design efforts for K-12 schools, including programming, conceptual development, documentation, and detailing.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and overall project performance.
- Serve as the primary contact for school districts, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Oversee production of high-quality drawings and technical documentation in Revit.
- Ensure compliance with state and district standards, educational guidelines, and applicable codes.
- Facilitate coordination with engineering consultants and construction partners.
- Mentor junior architects and designers; support team development and quality control.
- Contribute to interviews, proposals, and business development efforts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional architectural experience, including leadership roles.
- Active architectural license (Washington Preferred).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and managing K-12 education projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, with deep understanding of modeling, documentation, and coordination workflows.
- Strong knowledge of K-12 educational design standards, facility requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, organization, and team‑leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Washington school districts and state requirements (OSPI).
- Familiarity with modern learning environment design strategies and educational planning.
- LEED AP, WELL AP, or similar sustainability credential.
