Electrical Customer Design (Data Centers, Singapore)
- Develop electrical system architectures and detailed designs from utility connection through to rack-level power distribution.
- Design power infrastructure to support continuous operations and a range of cooling technologies.
- Perform capacity planning and implement solutions that accommodate dynamic and rapidly changing power demands.
- Select and size electrical equipment to meet performance, scalability, and modularity requirements.
- Optimise system configurations and operating sequences to improve energy efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and reliability assessments.
- Identify and mitigate single points of failure within critical infrastructure designs.
- Establish standardised design frameworks and templates to improve consistency, speed, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver complex projects and resolve technical challenges.
- Develop designs that can adapt to future technology and workload requirements.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineering certification and relevant licensing where applicable.
- Extensive experience in data centre electrical design, including leadership or senior engineering responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems.
- Experience performing electrical system studies, including:
- Load flow analysis
- Short circuit studies
- Arc flash analysis
- Cable sizing and thermal calculations
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Protection coordination
- Power monitoring systems
- Familiarity with relevant international electrical and safety standards.
- Experience designing large-scale, mission-critical data centre facilities.
- Proficiency with electrical modelling and analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, or similar tools.
- Ability to create and review detailed engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
- Willingness to travel as required.
