Electrical Engineer - Renewables, P&C, Operations
This is a great opportunity for an electrical engineer with a background in power systems, substations, transmission, or utility-scale renewables who wants to work directly on the owner/operator side. You'll provide technical support across a large portfolio of operating wind and solar assets, helping improve reliability, performance, compliance, and long-term asset optimization.
Opportunity to sit 100% remote from the US or Canada. We have office locations across the East Coast and a remote team that's sitting across the country.
⚡ What You'll Be Doing
- Provide electrical engineering support across utility-scale wind and solar assets
- Support substations, collection systems, and transmission systems
- Analyze protection events and work closely with Operations and SCADA teams
- Review electrical studies, drawings, equipment specifications, and engineering documentation
- Support protection coordination, power system studies, and electrical system modeling
- Assist with interconnection studies, electrical BOP design, and grid integration
- Support capital improvement, commissioning, maintenance, and reliability initiatives
- Help ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, IEEE, ANSI, and applicable industry standards
👤 What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5+ years of relevant experience for the Electrical Engineer level
- 8+ years of experience for the Senior Electrical Engineer level
- Background in power systems, substations, transmission, or utility-scale renewable generation
- Experience with protection systems, relays, electrical studies, and/or system modeling
- Familiarity with tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, TSAT, or ETAP is valuable
- Senior-level candidates should bring strong experience with protection coordination, substations, transmission systems, and grid integration
🌱 Why This Opportunity?
This is a chance to move closer to the owner/operator side of renewable energy, working directly with operating generation assets rather than supporting projects solely from a consulting or EPC perspective. The position offers exposure across engineering, operations, SCADA, development, OEMs, and outside technical partners.
