Electrical Engineering Innovation Lead

Position Overview

This role is based in India and is focused on advancing research and development in the field of Electrical Power Systems Engineering. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping next-generation power solutions for data centers, with a strong emphasis on software-defined power and energy optimization. The position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of applied research and real-world engineering, collaborating with global teams to drive innovation and cost efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead Research Initiatives
    Drive research in Electrical Power Systems Engineering, particularly in the area of software-defined power, with a focus on managing stranded power in data centers.

  2. Collaborate on Electrical Design
    Partner with core Design and Engineering teams to develop, implement, and manage electrical systems for new developments, infrastructure upgrades, and rectification projects. Emphasis on integrating emerging technologies to reduce costs and deliver measurable savings.

  3. Support Technology Integration
    Provide site-specific requirements and insights during the development of Basis of Design (BOD) documents, supporting the integration of new technologies in collaboration with engineering teams.

  4. Technology and Commercial Reviews
    Conduct quarterly assessments of key technologies and their commercial implications to ensure alignment with strategic and operational goals.

  5. Modeling and Simulation
    Apply modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, COMSOL) for system analysis, optimization, and data-driven decision-making.


Work Environment Expectations

  • Willingness to work beyond standard business hours when necessary to meet project deadlines, support research outreach, or participate in events.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to ensure successful outcomes in applied research initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution. A specialization in Power Engineering is preferred.
  • Proven experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of medium, low, and high voltage electrical distribution systems, including AC/DC systems and power management/SCADA tools.
  • Familiarity with power system condition monitoring and diagnostic techniques.
