Senior Electrical Estimator

Location: Houston, TX (Relocation assistance available)

About the Opportunity

An established electrical contractor in Houston is recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to support a strong pipeline of K‑12 and Commercial construction projects. This is a leadership-level estimating role for someone who can independently manage medium to large electrical bids and contribute strategically during the preconstruction phase.

Position Summary

The Senior Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing complete and accurate electrical estimates for projects ranging from $500,000 to $20 million. The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of estimating experience with an electrical contractor, a deep understanding of commercial electrical systems, and confidence leading the estimating process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical estimating efforts for K‑12 and Commercial projects valued between $500K-$20M
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, pricing, and labor analysis
  • Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to fully define project scope
  • Solicit, compare, and analyze vendor and supplier pricing
  • Identify risk, scope gaps, and value-engineering opportunities
  • Participate in bid strategy meetings and final bid reviews
  • Support preconstruction handoff to project management teams
  • Maintain historical estimating data and pricing benchmarks

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electrical estimating experience with an electrical contractor
  • Proven background estimating commercial and K‑12 projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labor, and code requirements
  • Experience using estimating and takeoff software such as Accubid
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 (DOE)
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • 20 days Paid Time Off

  • Monday-Friday
