A power generation cooperative in the Midwest is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join its team. This is a multi-level opening and may be filled at the Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Principal Engineer level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
This role is responsible for engineering support, plant operations, maintenance, and project management related to generation facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and document engineering studies to optimize the operation and maintenance of generation facilities.
Assist plant leadership with operations analysis and maintenance troubleshooting.
Recommend, plan, and manage engineering projects at cooperative-operated generation plants.
Provide engineering support for electrical systems and components, including:
Generators
Transformers
Breakers
Relays
Motors
Variable frequency drives (VFDs)
Inverters
Batteries
Sensors
Control systems
Contribute to the development of annual budgets for generating facilities.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to work well in team environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
Well-organized with strong coordination and time management skills.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with a high level of initiative.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
