Emerging Contaminants Solutions & Innovation Lead
Position Overview:
We are seeking a forward-thinking and technically adept Emerging Contaminants Solutions & Innovation Lead to drive strategic initiatives and technical excellence in the identification, assessment, and remediation of emerging contaminants across diverse environmental sites in the U.S. This role will lead cross-functional teams, develop innovative treatment technologies, and guide regulatory strategy to address contaminants such as PFAS, 1,4-dioxane, pharmaceuticals, and other novel pollutants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
Lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge solutions for the detection, characterization, and remediation of emerging contaminants in soil, groundwater, surface water, and air. - Innovation & R&D:
Identify and evaluate new technologies, treatment methods, and analytical tools. Collaborate with academic institutions, technology vendors, and internal R&D teams to pilot and scale innovative approaches. - Regulatory Strategy:
Monitor evolving federal and state regulations (e.g., EPA, state EPAs) related to emerging contaminants. Provide strategic guidance to clients and internal teams on compliance and risk management. - Project Oversight:
Serve as a senior technical advisor on complex site assessment and remediation projects. Ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all phases of project execution. - Client Engagement:
Support business development by engaging with clients, presenting technical solutions, and contributing to proposals and marketing materials. - Thought Leadership:
Represent the company at industry conferences, technical working groups, and regulatory forums. Publish white papers and technical articles to advance the field.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Master's or Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Chemistry, or a related field. - Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting or research, with a strong focus on emerging contaminants and remediation technologies. - Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of contaminant fate and transport, risk assessment, and remediation technologies (e.g., in situ treatment, adsorption, advanced oxidation, bioremediation). - Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, and state-specific programs related to emerging contaminants. - Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to translate complex science into actionable strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PFAS site investigations and treatment technologies
- Active participation in ITRC, ASTM, or similar technical organizations
- Professional licensure (PE, PG) or equivalent credentials
Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary:
- Range: $150,000 - $250,000 annually
(commensurate with experience, education, and geographic location)
