Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design and development of wastewater treatment systems, aerobic digestion processes, and industrial waste management facilities. This role will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary engineering team, overseeing project design from concept to execution, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering teams in the design of wastewater treatment plants, aerobic digestion systems, and industrial waste management infrastructure.
- Oversee the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and detailed engineering drawings.
- Collaborate with environmental consultants, civil engineers, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance.
- Drive innovation in sustainable and cost-effective waste treatment technologies.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Review and approve technical documentation, design calculations, and construction specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Stay current with advancements in environmental engineering, treatment technologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in wastewater treatment, aerobic digestion, or industrial waste management design.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, local/state guidelines).
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAZOP, process simulation tools).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with anaerobic/aerobic digestion systems and biogas recovery.
- Familiarity with LEED or other sustainable design frameworks.
- Knowledge of industrial waste streams from sectors such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing.
