Experienced Control Systems Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation & Controls Engineer to support the design implementation and support of control systems used in industrial and utility environments. This role spans the full project lifecycle ranging from system design and software development to troubleshooting and onsite support and requires a strong foundation in PLC based automation along with the ability to work directly with customers and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design configure and support automated control systems for industrial and utility facilities
- Develop PLC logic operator interface screens and SCADA functionality using widely adopted automation platforms
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as control drawings wiring diagrams and system layouts in accordance with applicable standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues involving PLCs HMIs industrial networks and instrumentation
- Support control panel fabrication system integration and field installation activities as needed
- Participate in technical training efforts and provide guidance to junior engineers or technicians
- Support process based automation systems for water treatment and industrial applications including specialized equipment
- Perform additional controls and automation tasks as required to support project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Controls Engineering or a related discipline preferred
- 4 years or more of hands on experience delivering industrial automation or process control solutions
- Strong experience programming PLCs and developing HMI SCADA applications
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet IP Modbus TCP Profibus and DDC
- Familiarity with electrical and safety codes including NEC and NFPA
- Experience producing control system drawings AutoCAD experience is beneficial
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently in field environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Mechanical aptitude and a practical hands on approach to problem solving
