Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager with extensive experience managing federal construction projects, including military bases, embassies, VA hospitals, national parks, and other government facilities. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution-from planning and budgeting to delivery-while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and contractual requirements. The position requires flexibility for per diem travel or relocation anywhere in the U.S. as project needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage federal construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Ensure compliance with USACE, NAVFAC, VA, and other federal agency standards.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to achieve project objectives.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines and budgets.
- Prepare and present regular project reports to stakeholders and government representatives.
- Oversee procurement processes and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Enforce QA/QC programs and OSHA safety standards across all phases of the project.
- Manage change orders, RFIs, and contractual documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 3 years on federal projects.
- Strong understanding of federal contracting processes and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar projects in secure or sensitive environments.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Ability to pass federal background checks and obtain necessary security clearances.
- Willingness to travel extensively or relocate for project assignments.
